Beyond Lessons: Shaping a Local Music Legacy
I still remember the first time we set up speakers inside Stuft Pizza. We had just built a small stage, and it was a natural next step in continuing our commitment to creating a authentic performance opportunities for the youth of our community. These events are part of a growing legacy of youth-led shows in our town.
The community support has been strong, and the series has developed into something at local music lovers look forward to. Young musicians perform songs they’ve practiced, arranged, and brought to life—surrounded by their peers, families, and a growing network of fans. These aren’t recitals. These are real shows, and they’re part of what makes Beach Cities Rock Club special.
This past season has been packed with moments like that. From our role co-chairing the Battle of the Bands at San Clemente High, to opening doors for students to perform at the San Clemente Fiesta, to launching full-scale recording and video production camps—we’ve seen what’s possible when a whole town decides that music matters.
🎤 Highlights from the Season
We proudly co-chair the Battle of the Bands at San Clemente High alongside Mr. Bish, and this year, the event grew even bigger. I helped write the curriculum, judging criteria, and overall format—and what we saw was incredible. Young musicians rising to the occasion, bands forming friendships and fanbases, and a packed auditorium full of support.
We also brought the excitement across the street to Gibroni’s Pizza, hosting our "Aftershock" series to give even more students a chance to perform. These shows have quickly become community staples—casual, energetic, and full of heart.
And beyond our own events, we’ve helped students access bigger stages. We opened up doors for some of our most dedicated young artists to perform at the San Clemente Fiesta, one of the largest events in the city. In a region with so few all-ages venues, helping kids get on stage in front of real audiences is one of the most important things we can do.
🎬 Summer Camp Spotlight: Music Video Band Class
This summer, we’re launching something we’ve dreamed about for years: our Music Video Band Class. It’s a weeklong summer camp where students:
Choose a song
Master it in three days
Record it professionally
Film a music video
By the end of the week, each student will walk away with a real piece of media and an unforgettable experience. It’s fast-paced, focused, and incredibly fun—and a powerful way to build confidence and teamwork.
⏱️ Why Hour-Long Lessons Are Worth It
If your student already knows how to play and is ready to go deeper, upgrading to hour-long lessons is the best next step. These sessions allow for:
Advanced technique
Deeper rhythm coaching (many of our teachers incorporate live drumming)
Repertoire expansion
Songwriting and improvisation
Recording Studio Access & Production
Hour-long students also get free seasonal recording time and weekend access to our facilities for jamming and rehearsals with friends. It’s a program designed to help kids go from "learning music" to making it.
💸 Summer Discount for Current Families
To help families make the jump, we’re offering a special summer deal: If you’re currently in 30-minute lessons, you can upgrade to hour-long lessons for just $349/month (down from $370). This gives your student more time to grow and gives you more value over the summer months.
👯♂️ Bring a Friend. Get a Month Free.

We have brand-new brochures, free trial lesson vouchers, and flyers available to make spreading the word easy. Sharing our website is the easiest way to show people our program as we have just updated it!
Many of our strongest bands started because friends joined together. Let’s keep that tradition alive.
❤️Help Keep This Going!
We’ve been proudly doing this work for over a decade, but like many small businesses, the past few years have been some of the hardest we've ever faced. If you believe in what we do—if this place has impacted your family, your child, or your experience in the community—we ask that you help us continue!
Please take a moment to tell a friend about us. Please share our website, or brochures! Hand someone a trial voucher! Post a review! If every family recommended us to just one other, we’d be able to keep the program strong, affordable, and growing.
Your support doesn’t just keep the lights on—it helps us create something that truly matters in kids' lives.
Thank you for being a part of it.
Let’s keep the music alive this summer.
